Department of Statistics and Actuarial Science at Soongsil University is the only department in Korea, which has both
an statistics tract that develops data analysis capabilities which are core competencies of the future society and
an actuarial science track that maximizes the synergy between statistics and actuarial science.

Course Qualification
Master’s Course 1. Those who have obtained or are expected to acquire a bachelor's degree from a four-year university in Korea or abroad
2. Those who have been recognized as having equivalent or higher academic background by law
3. International Student: In principle, international students must submit TOPIK level 3 or higher or English proficiency test scores (TOEFL PBT: 550, CBT: 210, IBT: 80, IELTS: 5.5, TEPS: 550 or higher)
Doctor’s Course 1. Those who have obtained or are expected to acquire a master's degree from a four-year university in Korea or abroad
2. Those who have been recognized as having equivalent or higher academic background by law

4. Admission Process

Course Qualification
Master’s Course 1. Application for admission (prescribed form for this graduate school)
2. One copy of the undergraduate graduation certificate or expected graduation certificate issued within 6 months.
3. One copy of the transcript issued within 6 months (including the percentage of grades)
ㆍ For prospective graduates, submit transcripts from the previous semester.
ㆍ Submit transcripts from all previous schools when transferring to an undergraduate degree or graduating or expected to be graduated from an academic credit bank.
4. Confirmation for Qualification Acquisition of Policyholder by National Health Insurance Service
ㆍ Proof of Full Time / Part Time
ㆍ Access the National Health Insurance Service website (www.nhic.or.kr) > Log in with the accredited certificate > Go to My Page > Print the Confirmation for Qualification Acquisition of Policyholder.
ㆍ Classification of Full Time / Part Time is determined according to whether the applicant is employed (employees classified as part-time).
Doctor’s Course 1. 1. Application for admission (print out after completing the online application)
2. One copy of each undergraduate and graduate school graduation certificate or expected graduate certificate issued within 6 months
3. One copy of the transcript of undergraduate and graduate schools issued within 6 months (including the percentage of grades)
