Graduate Program

Department of Statistics and Actuarial Science at Soongsil University is the only department in Korea, which has both
an statistics tract that develops data analysis capabilities which are core competencies of the future society and
an actuarial science track that maximizes the synergy between statistics and actuarial science.

Educational Objective

1. Statistics Major

We foster professional manpower with information analysis ability to utilize statistics in various applied fields as well as theoretical research on statistics, which is an essential subject of the information society.

2. Actuarial Science

We provide educational courses in the fields of actuarial science and financial engineering and focus on enhancing the usability of educational content through connection with the field of business. We aim to nurture professionals in the insurance and finance fields who have both theory and practice.

Graduation Requirements

ㆍMaster's program : 24 credits (8 subjects) must be completed. Graduate school comprehensive examination, foreign language examination, and master's thesis must be passed.
ㆍDoctor's program : 36 credits (12 subjects) must be completed. Graduate school comprehensive examination, foreign language examination, and doctor's thesis must be passed.
